When someone is comfortable enough to have this on their car, there’s not much hope for our society, or our children. Photo below the fold.

Lloyd Marcus on Racism

•September 16, 2009 • 1 Comment

For anyone not familiar with Lloyd Marcus, he is a black singer and songwriter, and just happens to be a staunch Conservative. He is also a very well-thought writer and contributor to American Thinker. Mr. Marcus performed as part of the Tea Party Express en route the 9/12 Taxpayer’s March on Washington. Marcus has an article at today’s A/T regarding the hateful, racist commentary directed as him by those on the left that accuse of him of playing “house”, and other vitriol.

I experienced vicious racial verbal attacks, not from the tea party protesters. The racial hate expressed against me all came from the left, people who support President Obama’s radial[sic] socialist agenda.

Unfortunately, my deleted email box is littered with numerous messages expressing the following:
“You are the dumbest self hating f****** n***** I have ever seen!”
These racists are outraged by my opening lines I boldly proclaimed at each rally. “Hello my fellow patriots! I am NOT an African-American! I am Lloyd Marcus, AMERCIAN[sic]!”

The man is a true Patriot.

We made our way through the crowd to the bed of a pick up truck. National radio talk show host Mark Williams, blue star mom Deborah Johns, singer Diana Nagy, the Rivoli Revue (Ron and Kay) and I climbed on board. Someone handed Mark a bull horn which he used to encourage the extremely enthusiastic crowd. We said the Pledge of Allegiance and Diana lead in the singing of “God Bless America”. Many in the crowd were sobbing. Then they showered us with thanks, hugs, bottled water, bags of shacks and homemade treats. I thought, “How many angry racist mobs bake and bring brownies and overwhelm a black guy with affection and hugs?”
Once back on the bus, our team struggled to hold back tears. We felt humbled, honored and blessed. Though extremely well received at each rally, this “whistle stop” drove home the passion, love of country, and importance of our mission to preserve and Take Back America!

The Tea Party protesters are hard working decent people who love their country and want us all united as Americans. I am highly offended that this evil administration seeks to divide us, not just by race, but also by class envy. As I said to many of the audiences along the Tea Party Express bus tour, “I love you. Stay strong. Do not allow their calling you a racist to shut you up! Stand up for America. God bless you. And God bless America!”

Anyone who thinks racism and hate are a Conservative creation should read his article. [Not to mention research the history of the Republican party! It certainly wasn’t the Democrats or “progressives” operating the Underground Railroad or fighting for equality. Those who have found race as a convenient excuse to “level the playing field” by making race an issue are those who have ascribed to the Progressive dogma that somehow a person born of a darker skin color is somehow inferior and discriminated against. -Ed.]

Lloyd Marcus’ performance of his song Twenty Ten was aired by C-SPAN. Watch the video below:

Rep. Maxine Waters Wants “Teabaggers” Interviewed

•September 16, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I’m at a loss for words trying to figure out what to make of Rep. Maxine Waters’ most recent hissy. It’s bad enough that she would call those involved in peaceful protest “Teabaggers”, but the fact that she seems to be giving marching orders to the liberal media is downright disturbing (emphasis mine):

“I want those people talked to; I want them interviewed,” Waters told the liberal Bill Press Radio show in a podcast. I want journalists to be all over those rallies and the marches with the birthers and the teabaggers.”

So much for the “post-racial” America under Obama…

[Exit question: Is the Left going nuclear on the Health Care and Tea Party protests because they believe protesting is only a liberal mechanism? -Ed]

Update 9/17: Rep Waters now under investigation!

Tighten Your Belts, or Quit Breathing

Sounds like these will be the only options for Americans if Cap and Trade becomes law (also known as Waxman-Markey). It’s surprising that CBS News is reporting this:

The Obama administration has privately concluded that a cap and trade law would cost American taxpayers up to $200 billion a year, the equivalent of hiking personal income taxes by about 15 percent.

Well, who woulda thunk it? I guess another good question for the administration would be why this information wasn’t publicly released, and instead was part of an undisclosed Treasury report that had to be obtained via FOIA? In addition to the other insane tax increases that economic law would require to make Health Care reform and other Obama projects possible, the report concludes:

At the upper end of the administration’s estimate, the cost per American household would be an extra $1,761 a year.

Because I don’t pay enough in taxes already. I suppose if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em! Welfare state, here I come! Bring me my gub’ment cheeze!

B…b…but, the Nice Liberals and Mr. Obama Said Obamacare Wouldn’t Raise My Taxes

More fence-jumping: Democrats are now admitting that Obama’s Health Care Reform would likely raise taxes on the middle class. So much for Media Matters’ debunking of the tax myth.

Big Brother: Seattle Suburb Monitors All Vehicles Entering City

•September 16, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Big Brother comes to Medina, Washington:

In Medina, a new sign bears this warning: “You Are Entering a 24 Hour Video Surveillance Area.”

Cameras have recently been installed at intersections to monitor every vehicle coming into the city.

Under the “automatic license plate recognition” project, once a car enters Medina, a camera captures its license-plate number. Within seconds, the number is run through a database.

If a hit comes up for a felony — say, the vehicle was reported stolen or is being driven by a homicide suspect — the information is transmitted instantaneously to police, who can “leap into action,” said Police Chief Jeffrey Chen.

Now, it’s very, VERY rare that I ever agree with the ACLU, I have to somewhat agree with them in this case:

Doug Honig, spokesman for the American Civil Liberties Union of Washington, said such a system smacks of privacy violations.

“Government shouldn’t be keeping records of people’s comings and goings when they haven’t done anything wrong,” he said. “By actions like this, we’re moving closer and closer to a surveillance society.”

While I would normally be 110% behind any effort to lower crime and help protect the innocent, Medina isn’t exactly a high-crime area:

Medina — a city of 3,100 with an average household income of $222,000 — had discussed the idea for years as a way to discourage crime, city officials said.

Last year, there were 11 burglaries, Chen said.

“Some people think [that number of burglaries] is tolerable,” he said. “But even one crime is intolerable.”

3,100 people? 11 burglaries? Save us!

Good News: 45% of Physicians Polled Would Consider Quitting if Obamacare Becomes Law

•September 16, 2009 • Leave a Comment

IBD has a good overview of the actual reaction of American physicians to the so-called “Obamacare” Health Care destruction reform.  What their poll discovered, and what you won’t find in the MSM:

Two of every three practicing physicians oppose the medical overhaul plan under consideration in Washington, and hundreds of thousands would think about shutting down their practices or retiring early if it were adopted, a new IBD/TIPP Poll has found.
